The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, have marked 59 years of marriage, celebrating a journey they have described through years of love, companionship, faith and shared service to God.
The couple, who got married in 1967, have spent nearly six decades together, with Pastor Adeboye frequently acknowledging his wife’s support throughout his personal life and ministry.
The 59th wedding anniversary comes after Pastor Adeboye celebrated his wife’s 78th birthday in July, when he paid tribute to her and reflected on their 58 years of marriage at the time. He described her as his wife, friend, companion and a source of strength who had stood beside him through challenges, victories and the various assignments they had undertaken in their service to God.
In his tribute to Pastor Folu, Adeboye acknowledged the sacrifices she had made over the years, praising her compassion, wisdom, commitment and unwavering faith. He noted that she had continued to strengthen others even when she was personally tired and that her devotion had positively influenced their family and many other homes.
According to the cleric, their children had benefited from her love and dedication, while the wider Christian community had also been touched by her commitment to the work of God.

Adeboye has also spoken publicly about the importance of maintaining peace within marriage. During the May 2026 Holy Ghost Service, he recounted an incident in which he once woke up and could not find his wife beside him, leading him to briefly fear that the rapture had occurred and that he had been left behind. He later remembered that she had not travelled with him on that particular trip.
Using the experience to counsel married couples, Adeboye stressed the importance of resolving disagreements before going to bed. He said he does not like going to sleep with unresolved issues between himself and his wife, linking the principle to the biblical warning about reconciliation and maintaining peace.
The couple’s nearly six decades of marriage have unfolded alongside their extensive Christian ministry. Pastor Adeboye, who leads the RCCG, has remained one of Nigeria’s most prominent Christian leaders, while Pastor Folu has also played a significant role in the church and family ministry.
In July, while celebrating his wife’s birthday, Adeboye prayed for her continued strength, peace, joy and good health, asking God to continue to uphold her after decades of service and sacrifice.
The couple’s 59th anniversary therefore represents not only the length of their marriage but also a long partnership built around family, Christian faith and ministry, with their journey continuing to serve as a point of reflection for many of their followers and well-wishers.
