President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated Vice-President Kashim Shettima as he clocks 60, praising his loyalty, leadership and contribution to the administration’s efforts to move Nigeria forward.

In a birthday message issued on Tuesday ahead of Shettima’s 60th birthday on Wednesday, September 2, Tinubu described his Vice-President as a brother, trusted ally, valued colleague and patriot whose public life has been marked by service, commitment and sacrifice.

The President also congratulated Shettima’s wife, Nana, his children, family members and political associates, saying the milestone offered an opportunity to recognise the Vice-President’s contributions to Borno State and Nigeria.

Tinubu highlighted Shettima’s professional journey, particularly his distinguished banking career and his years in public service as Governor of Borno State and later as Vice-President of Nigeria.

According to the President, Shettima demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and a strong commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians in both positions.

Tinubu particularly praised the Vice-President’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, his support for the administration and his commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also highlighted Shettima’s role as Chairman of the National Economic Council, noting that the Vice-President had provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policies and encouraging cooperation between the Federal Government and state governments.

The President further commended Shettima for his respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation, describing these qualities as important to strengthening good governance in the country.

Tinubu said Shettima’s loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty had remained invaluable to his administration, while thanking him for his steadfast partnership as the government continues to pursue its programmes and promises under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He expressed confidence that their partnership would continue to produce meaningful progress towards building the Nigeria they envision.

The President concluded his message by praying that Allah would continue to guide, protect and strengthen Shettima, while granting him wisdom, good health and many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu also joined in celebrating the Vice-President, praising his strength, loyalty, commitment and love for the country as he attained the milestone age of 60.
