The Kaduna State Police Command has dismantled two suspected bandit hideouts during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state, in another push to disrupt criminal activities and improve security in the area.
The operation was carried out by police operatives in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, following credible intelligence provided by members of the affected communities.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the operation took place at about 8:00 a.m. and covered suspected bandit enclaves around the Durum and Danguzuri general areas, extending towards the boundary with Kano State.
Hassan said two structures identified as hideouts allegedly used by the bandits to hold abducted victims were dismantled at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.
The command said joint security patrols were still ongoing across the affected areas after the operation, while normalcy had been restored.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended residents of the communities for their cooperation and praised the security operatives for their efforts during the clearance operation.
Muhammad reaffirmed the command’s determination to sustain its offensive against banditry and other forms of criminality across Kaduna State.
He also urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, stressing that community cooperation remains important to ongoing efforts to identify and disrupt criminal networks.
The latest operation underscores the continued security pressure being mounted on suspected bandit groups operating around Makarfi and areas close to the Kaduna-Kano boundary.
