Pelumi Olajengbesi Is Not Corrupt, Has No Criminal Record — Chocomilo Declares

Spokesperson of the Pelumi Olajengbesi Campaign Organization (POCO), Sodiq Lawal Chocomilo, has described the House of Representatives candidate for Oriade Obokun Federal Constituency, Hon. Pelumi Olajengbesi, as a man of unblemished character and integrity.

Chocomilo spoke on Thursday on Hard Punch, a flagship political program on Afinju 90.7 FM, Osogbo, anchored by Boluwatife Ajayi.

According to him, Olajengbesi has no trace of corruption or criminality in his public and private dealings.

“Pelumi Olajengbesi has no criminal record, either civil or criminal. He is a saint, a complete saint. We need people who are not only competent, responsible, and qualified but who also have the fear of God in their hearts and good character,” Chocomilo said.

The POCO spokesperson said his appointment as a spokesperson was a natural extension of his years of advocacy as a journalist and activist.

“I have always identified with the poor, the disadvantaged, and those who are struggling. I have always demanded efficient representation and quality delivery. I have always taken the side of the people,” he stated.

Chocomilo noted that moving into partisan politics has only changed his methods, not his message.

“The story has not changed. The tale is not different. The players and strategy are wholly different. Rather than criticising across social media platforms and going to radio and television stations to criticise, we are now ensuring that we put into practice all that we have been saying,” he added.

He called for a shift from the status quo in Oriade/Obokun politics, stressing the need for fresh ideas.

“We can not continue doing the same thing the same way and expect a different result. Allow new people to test the water. Accommodate fresh ideas,” he said.

The spokesperson disclosed that he has known Olajengbesi for over ten years, dating back to his days as a student union leader, adding that power reveals true character, citing former US First Lady Michelle Obama: “Power does not corrupt. Power reveals true character.”
